About us
The Czech Fusion Society was established in 2015 with the aim of developing cooperation and sharing information in fusion research and education at the national level, particularly in the following areas:
- Research and development of the technology for future fusion reactors includng ITER and DEMO
- Joint research and development projects in the field of fusion technology and related materials
- Education and training of students and professionals
- Joint organization of seminars and conferences
- Representation of the interests of Czech fusion programs within international consortia
The Czech Fusion Society thus builds on the tradition of coordinating fusion research in our country, which was previously overseen by the EURATOM-IPP.CZ association. The Czech Fusion Society is founded on the equality of the participating members. An important part of its activities is also an annual open meeting of members, featuring presentations of the latest results of fusion research in the Czech Republic.
Members
Members of the Czech Fusion Society are scientific institutions, universities, and research centers that participate in the study of plasma, nuclear and materials physics, and in the development of technologies for the future use of nuclear fusion.

Nuclear Fusion
Thermonuclear fusion offers the prospect of an abundant, safe, and long-term sustainable energy source. However, mastering it technically lies at the very limits of our capabilities and is accompanied by a number of fundamental scientific questions. Thermonuclear fusion is the energy source of stars, including our Sun.
